This month I have been working on an Alice In Wonderland painting, I found different characters from the movie, and painted them in my own style. I painted the background a lightish purple, then I sketched the characters over the paint with pencil, so that I could just paint it in. First, I painted the mushrooms. I mixed many colors together for the stem to make it look realistic. I used brown, white, and black, and layered the paints. This helped me to develop skill because I created dimension by layering different colors. Next, I painted Alice's hair. I mixed yellow and white to create a golden blonde color. Then I took a risk by using darker colors to outline the shape of the hair to give dimension, and make it look more realistic. Next I developed skill by mixing colors like red, brown, yellow , and a lot of white to make the skin tone that looked the most realistic on Alice. Then I added more broen to my skin colored paint, to make the eyebrows, and outline the jawline and face.I am not done with this painting because I still have to complete the features on her face, finish the cats mouth, and finish painting the caterpillar.
